New Fabrics

Moda has come out with charm packs of batik fabrics! Its like candy! Love it!
We also received a pattern seen above that uses these charm packs to make three table runners. Quick and easy you start sewing when you sit down instead cutting first- the work is done for you!

We also received these Riley Blake Sewing and handwork themed bolts:
More definitions- yes we are sewing nerds but it is so darn cute!

Just over one week left in Quilt Across Texas Shop Hop 2012!

Pincushion Swap wrap up!

We want to extend our thanks to everyone who contributed a pincushion to our swap. We received a total of 31 pincushions! Great turn out! - Every one of them was special and will undoubtably be enjoyed by their new owner!
The winner of the $25 Gift Card is Tina L. who single-handedly contributed 7 pincushions. Here is a spot light on her little works of art because each one was unique!

( the dinosaur was my favorite!)

Tina works full time but finds time to sew and do handwork on her off hours as well being an active member in Tri-County Quilt Guild.  She frequently comes to our Friday night free sew at the shop. She is very talented in all aspects of hand work as you can see!
Everyone who contributed a pincushion is welcome to stop by and pick up their new treasure!
Thank you everyone for swapping, our next swap will be announced soon!

Kids Flannel and Mama Said Sew

We have had many customers asking for flannel so when we saw this line from Northcott we said YES! and it arrived today. Ever so soft and colorful.

All of the line together:
We also received Mama Said Sew from Moda:
It had two cute quilt patterns that use precuts seen above:
And these are the bolts we received below:
The one bolt seen on the far left above has definitions which you can see up close below:
Quilting and Sewing words are defined on it
And another bolt has lots of quilt block names on it:
We have a couple of layer cakes and jellyrolls with more charm packs on the way!
The Texas shop hop is going strong. Our extended hours all month long in September seem to be helping folks on the hop hit more shops! Stop in and see us.

More Christmas Fabrics

Heaven help me Deb continues to sneak in more Christmas fabrics!
The pincushion swap was a huge success and we have many of the pincushions on display in the shop this week if you want to peek at the all the talented handiwork of our customers. Then we will divide them up and send them home with their new owners! Thank you all for participating! I will announce the gift card winner later this week.

Shiva Paintsticks Class

Dolores taught a class on techniques for using Shiva paintsticks and rubbing plates at the shop this week. Below are some pictures of her students' work which also looked great!
Deb used a blue background fabric.
Candi used a mottled brown/black background.
Here is Candi putting hers into a wallhanging using the BQ pattern from Maple Island as Dolores did.
