Aged Muslins

We introduced these affordable beauties a couple months ago. They have been popular. They look great with their subtle texture and sort of rugged hand dyed look.
This is a queen sized quilt made only with the Aged Muslins:
Great fabrics for a man's quilt or a modern quilter, we have also seen them mixed with Kaffe Fassatt fabrics with great success.
If you are interested in the pattern it is called Northern Lights by Jaybird Quilts. Jaybird Quilts patterns are excellent. Great graphics and directions are included in each pattern.

Jellyroll Star Sampler Class

These ladies met a couple weeks ago and I was fortunate enough to be at the shop that day to enjoy their beautiful quilts in progress! They all took Margaret Persinger's class with great success!
Students enjoyed the class calling it "a fun, skill building class!". They all felt more confident as quilters after the class and were thinking about what to sign up for next round! Our next open house is January 31st!! Mark your calendars!
Barbara got a little further along and had her blocks put together and a lovely piano key border added on.
It features 30's reproductions on a lovely white background.

Lamp Post Decorating 2014

If you haven't been by the shop lately it is a lovely time to go. The town does a Lamp Post Decorating contest each year. All the local businesses in the Relics by the Railroad area participate. We haven't won YET but we do enjoy participating each year! Tanya jumped in and did ours this year!
She used her crazy ninja decorating skills to decorate ours!

Thank you Tanya for making us look so good!!
These are the lamp posts from the other businesses:

Primrose Garden by Riley Blake Fabrics

We get a lot of calls about Riley Blake fabric lines, as they are a smaller company not as many shops carry them but we try to have a few available.
This fabric line has been selling well this week, turquoise and red are a popular color combination!
This line comes has beautiful art and colors, it also has a panel with instructions to make a 18" doll outfit, which I have done. It is at the shop as you can see in the pictures below. Now to sew something for me from this line! So pretty!

 Apron is reversible!
I was amazed at how much time it saves not having to cut out and pin on a pattern to make clothing! I just started cutting out the pieces and sewing! Much more successful than my previous forays into doll clothes making let me tell you!
The Panel is less than $8 for a whole American Girl or any other 18" doll outfit! Such a great price compared to the doll catalogs!! The outfit has multiple options too, you can make it as I have or a sleeveless version with a red bodice etc...
