Winners!

Congratulations to Rhonda, for winning our Viewer's Choice $50 gift card! For this darling little art quilt for our Pick a Card Challenge:

We collected over 300 votes from all sorts of people- our fabric reps, husbands, children and anyone else who happened to stroll into the shop! 
Even the Scissor Guy voted!
 The voters were so impressed by the entries. We were awed and grateful by how very seriously they took the voting. Everyone sincerely respected the entries, studied them and even asked questions! 
All of your work was exceptional and we have 

enjoyed having it in the shop.

your talent really enriches our shop.

Talented Students!

We have had quite a show this week 
of finished projects from classes at the shop.

Then today, at in the Newbie Bee, 
we learned how to do the "Twister!"

 Several of the members used the black and white charm squares from the recent guild wide swap organized by Kathryn:

 


Candi used this Sandhill Plums charm pack of Civil War fabrics to make hers. It is very pretty in warm fall colors:

Fun at the shop!

Mondo Bag- This is a new class Dolores Wood is teaching, we sell the pattern and even refills of the fusible patterned interfacing used to make it! 
 Friday Free Sew fun shots:
Cheyenne finished her Birdie Sling bag that she was making as a gift for a friend. 
 TJ paper pieced all the elements to her "Prairie Star" which she is taking as a class with Carolyn Bisbee
Tina let out a "whoop!" when she finished stitching this little mitten which had 7 thread color changes and was so tiny it could have been covered with a quarter! That is a labor of love!
Harriet showed off her FINISHED quilt shop that she began in the recent Tri County Quilt Guild workshop with Edyta Sitar. She could not say enough good things about the class and she got so energized she went home and finished it! Way to go Harriet, beautiful!

Voting has begun!

For the next two weeks you are welcome to pop in the shop and vote for your two favorite entries in the "Pick a Card Challenge". 
There were more than a dozen excellent entries with various techniques displayed and mixed media elements. 
 The winner of the viewers choice award on May 1st will receive a $50 gift certificate and from the entries left we will pick one random winner to receive a $50 gift certificate. 
 No purchase necessary to vote but each person is only allowed to vote once.

Thanks to all of you who participated in this fun challenge, people are really enjoying the mini quilt show in the shop!

One more week for Pick a Card Challenge!

Next Saturday is the last day you can drop off your pick a card Challenges!  We are up to 10 great entries. All different techniques are represented: applique, patchwork, felting, embroidery, painting, trapunto etc... Ten Little Things:

Oh you know how I love owls and this fabric has some cute owls on it!

 And we got some pre-cuts- these sell like hot cakes! We never seem to order enough! Anyone doing a Twister quilt?? These would be adorable for a kiddo!
