Spring 2015 updates

If you have signed up for our email then you already know that we are moving to a new location on Memorial day weekend. If you haven't you can do this on the homepage of our website: quilterscrossingtx.com
The BIG NEWS IS:
We will be moving!
We will be down there on the right side of the building, where "The Racing Station" was previously located. We will share a building with Gloyers Pharmacy and Gift Shop! It is almost twice the size of our current location and while we love the Relics by the Railroad neighborhood we are looking forward to bringing our customers more in our new space!
We realize a lot of the charm of our shop is the coziness, so we are working on giving the new shop some character so it doesn't loose the Quilters Crossing feel.
We are working on our sign which will replace the FOR LEASE sign shown above!
One of the most frequent questions we have been asked is what will happen to the cat "Mama Kitty" who lives on our porch. Rest assured we have found a home for her and she will not be at the new shop. We will try to keep you updated on how she adjusts to her new digs!
Thank you all for making our business a success and making this move possible!

Mama Kitty's rules the roost

Almost everyone who has been to our shop in the last couple of years has seen Mama kitty.
Customers have told us she looks like a Russian Blue. She is very well fed and she is a great hunter too.
She has gotten quite domesticated since she first arrived,
despite the fact that she isn't allowed inside. We suspect it is the steady stream of customers who give her attention and bring her food!
In honor of "Mama kitty" we made some selections to point out to you on the blog here:

We have some new patterns featuring art from Charley Harper. He was famous for his National Wildlife Foundation posters in the 1970's. Recently a fabric line was designed with his art and these patterns came out.
Venetta teaches a class on making hot pads out of clothesline!
"Who Knew!" is always a popular little owl!
This pincushion kitty is taught by Tina as a class you can make the kitty in brown or black ( kits are available). The pincushion kitty is also holding down some fabric with cats on it!
Make a kitty using your twister tool!
Patterns featuring birds! The Pocket of wishes pattern would be adorable for a bridal or wedding shower!
Hope everyone has a great week!

Aged Muslins

We introduced these affordable beauties a couple months ago. They have been popular. They look great with their subtle texture and sort of rugged hand dyed look.
This is a queen sized quilt made only with the Aged Muslins:
Great fabrics for a man's quilt or a modern quilter, we have also seen them mixed with Kaffe Fassatt fabrics with great success.
If you are interested in the pattern it is called Northern Lights by Jaybird Quilts. Jaybird Quilts patterns are excellent. Great graphics and directions are included in each pattern.

Jellyroll Star Sampler Class

These ladies met a couple weeks ago and I was fortunate enough to be at the shop that day to enjoy their beautiful quilts in progress! They all took Margaret Persinger's class with great success!
Students enjoyed the class calling it "a fun, skill building class!". They all felt more confident as quilters after the class and were thinking about what to sign up for next round! Our next open house is January 31st!! Mark your calendars!
Barbara got a little further along and had her blocks put together and a lovely piano key border added on.
It features 30's reproductions on a lovely white background.
